Evaluates and treats patients by physical measures and the use of therapeutic exercises and rehabilitation procedures, with or without assistive devices, for the purpose of preventing, correcting, or alleviating disability. Patients may include neonates through the geriatric population. Upholds the standards of the system-wide customer service program.
REQUIRED: Bachelor�s Degree, entry level Master�s Degree, or post-graduate certificate in Physical Therapy from a school accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association Permanent licensure in the State of Ohio or hold licensure applicant status in the State of Ohio. Current BLS or obtains within 90 days of hire. Physical Requirements: � Ability to walk without assistive device and to maintain balance despite sudden load in order to support patient from falling during ambulation and/or gait training. � Ability to lift and reach with arms sufficiently to lift patient's arm or leg during exercise program. � Sensation of touch and manual dexterity to be able to palpate muscle tension or to monitor patient�s pulse. � Visual acuity to observe patient�s gross movement, gait, etc., in order to analyze biomechanical problems. � Ability to speak clearly enough to instruct patients and families who may not be able to read. � Ability to hear or understand patients description of symptoms and response to treatment. Frequently (25-75% of the time) performed tasks Standing, sitting with and without back support, walking, reaching (overhead, forward, lateral, and low), crouching, balancing, lifting 5to 25 pounds, carrying 5 to10 pounds, and pushing up to 75 pounds Occasionally (5-25% of the time) performed tasks Stooping, climbing, lifting or moving 24 to 50 pounds, carrying 10 to 25 pounds, and operating power tools and machinery PREFERRED: Membership in the American Physical Therapy Association.
